Larksong Studio offers voice lessons, beginner piano lessons, and Musikgarten classes in the CSRA.
Melissa Larkin Schultz, creator of Larksong Studio, has been teaching private voice lessons for 10 years. She holds an undergraduate degrees in music from Prairie Bible College (BA Sacred Music), the University of Lethbridge (BM Vocal Performance) and a master's degree in vocal performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (MM Vocal Performance). Melissa is also a licensed Musikgarten teacher.
Melissa is an accomplished performer, equally comfortable in the concert hall, chamber choral groups and the operatic stage, having appeared in performances throughout the United States and Canada. Melissa is currently active as a performer and draws from her own experiences as part of the teaching process.
Recently re-located to Augusta, GA, Melissa welcomes beginner piano students ages 5 and above and voice students ages 13 and above. Lessons are designed to provide the student with a solid technical foundation in the art of singing and will help the student improve in areas such as: breathing, posture, vocal range and flexibility, as well as an increased understanding of music theory, aural skills, musicality, interpretation, and style. Lessons provide an excellent opportunity to grow as a singer, whether the student plans to sing primarily as a soloist or in a choral setting. Former students have gone on to begin undergraduate degrees in music, attend all-state choirs, perform lead roles in school and community musicals, sing as choir section leaders and church soloists.
