A Century Old Schoolhouse Transformed Into a Family Home

A few years ago I had the incredible opportunity to consult on this very project. It’s a century old schoolhouse, built in 1873, and the sweetest young couple took it upon themselves to lovingly transform it into their family’s weekend getaway. When they first acquired the property years ago, they reached out to me for a little advice. We met for a couple of design consultations to help get their thoughts down on paper and then they were off to the races. They ended up working with an incredible team of people to transform this old schoolhouse, and the combination of sheer raw talent and pure love really brought everything together. It has been so much fun to witness the job come together from afar (it has it’s own instagram account!) And I couldn’t help myself but share the beauty here, too. Needless to say, I absolutely cannot take credit for the final results, but it’s a bit of a dream to have had even the tiniest hand in bringing this happy home to life. With photos from Patrick Biller, take it all in below.
