Okay so we’ve already covered the logistics and behind the scenes peeks at designing the foyer, living room, and dining room pertaining to this particular project (are you sick of hearing about it yet? Because I’m not sick of talking about it!). And today we’re setting our sights on the bedroom. Truth be told, aside from nurseries (which are seriously my favourite room of all time to design – so precious!), bedrooms rank super high on that list. And, oddly enough, I find that they’re often the last room that people tend to tackle. In my humble opinion, however… they should be the very first. I mean, it’s supposed to be your sanctuary after all, and shouldn’t it make you feel like you’re sinking into a cloud of angel dust at the end of a long day? I mean, that was the vibe we were going for in this particular project anyway.
As always, we started with some inspiration images. This is where we began…

Pretty, right? That was definitely the name of our game. Pretty, cozy, warm and inviting, without feeling over the top girly. I then took these inspiration images and ran with the concept. This is how those photos were translated into a mood board of sorts we could then build off of.

Like virtually every other room in this home, we knew we wanted to keep things bright and airy, yet infinitely cozy, which is where the textural aspect came into play. A cane bed set the stage, serene art most definitely helped, a set of concrete lamps added a bit of grit (hello, more texture!), playing with a variety of wood tones added tension and interest, and layers of luxurious bedding softened it all. Here’s a peek at the final results.
For all of the final sources, in addition to more views of this bedroom, head on over to the full reveal post for this project right here!

This is an absolutely stunning bedroom!
This has been so wonderful to follow this project as it has the airy feel I am trying to achieve in my house.
Can you please tell me where the curtain rods were sourced? I love how minimal they are and will look lovely I think with my ivory linen curtains.
Thanks,
R
Thank you Rae! They were purchased at Tonic Living
