One of the questions I get asked about frequently is where to buy hardware. From cabinets to door knobs to towel hooks and beyond, hardware is something you may already know I’m obsessed with. It really is the jewelry of a space and I don’t believe they should be an afterthought.

I had a realization that designing your home is significantly easier if you have the right sources on hand. Trades and suppliers, of course (necessary!) but also just knowing where to shop can help tremendously.

There’s a lot of gatekeeping in the interior design world, but I’ve always been of the belief that there’s more than enough to go around. That no harm can come from sharing sources. So far, this approach has worked for me really wonderfully. So here we are!

I know that I said that I wasn’t ready for fall quite yet (like, legit, last week – ha!) but the temperature has shifted just a hair as of late, I picked up a new pair of slippers just the other day*, and my penchant for cozy is admittedly starting to creep in. I’m struggling to find the words to describe how it feels to be turning my daughter’s nursery into a little girls room without sounding over the top or cliché. But it really does feel like this huge rite of passage. One that I wasn’t really anticipating? Or, perhaps, never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined we’d be here so quickly. I must admit, I’ve been far more emotional about the whole thing than I thought I’d be. And though I’m sad to be saying goodbye to some of the last remaining remnants of my baby’s babyness, I am equally as excited for her and this next phase of life. Motherhood really is all of the things all at once isn’t it. Does one ever get used to the whiplash of emotions that come alongside this role?

All that said, it’s an honour to have been able to help take her room to the next level. Sometimes I wish I could design kids rooms exclusively – they just bring me so much joy. And, shocker, I get so sentimental about the idea of this space being the backdrop to her many childhood memories. She’s been sleeping here for a while now (we just had her first little sleepover with her cousin on Sunday and it was THE CUTEST) and she is just nailing the transition. MY LITTLE GIRL’S ROOM

My husband, Justin, and I are hoping to take our daughter to Europe this fall. And though we were originally thinking of introducing her to Italy, this classical countryside home has me itching to reconsider. Can you imagine spending a few weeks tucked within these (incredible) walls in the Belgian countryside? I’m convinced it’d feel like medicine for my soul.
